Show 29 and show 30 (Memorial Day)

As I'm currently out of work and looking for a new one, last monday got taken up by an interview rather than planning out my show... and as a result I recycled some older play lists for the first time ever. The show was mostly a repeat of show 7 plus the beginning of show 8, and the songs can be found by looking up the lists from those shows.

Show 30 is today - Memorial day. I try to fit in a segment of songs about our country and those who've served in the second hour. The rest of the show is just good bluegrass to grill by...

Doctor Whograss - Music from the High & Lonesomest man in the universe (Show 25)

Well this is the 25th show - that's almost the 6 month mark. I decided I'd do a theme show this week and explore an idea I had earlier that combined two things I enjoy: Doctor Who and Bluegrass. Once I actually started making a playlist I started realizing that the clever name wasn't the only thing that was easy to mash up. Bill Monroe, the Father of Bluegrass, created the "High & Lonesome" sound and was known to write songs about traveling and being lonesome. The Doctor is called "the loneliest man in the universe" and spends his life running from place to place. One has blue grass, the other a blue box. What follows is the resulting list of songs... some need some imagination, others eerily almost line up with Doctor Who plot elements. Overall, it's a good mix of bluegrass songs... even if you're not a fan, you still win. Allons-y!

Come on Down - Nick Chandler & Delivered (not actually part of the Who theme, but it might work)
